He was born on September 12, 1953 in Alexander City, Alabama to William Edward Penton, Sr. and Marline Elizabeth Meadows Penton. He was a faithful and active member of Vaughn Forest Church. Eddie was a Godly man of integrity, morals and high standards. He was a visionary, artist, designer, perfectionist, and gifted custom home builder for over 50 years. A firm handshake and his word was all that was needed. He loved his cows, horses, traveling and quiet pontoon rides on Lake Martin with his "Queen Sharron". Eddie was a family man. He believed in hard work and instilled that in his boys. He also taught them the importance of putting the Lord first and giving all glory to Him. He loved spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sharron T. Penton; sons, Travis Smith (Lowery), Sean Penton (Lauren), and Troy Smith (Breanna); grandchildren, Emma Kate Penton, Lane Smith, Sawyer Penton, Chambless Smith, and Brantley Smith; and sisters, Kathy Penton Johnson (Jeff), and Sybil Penton Kellum.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jennifer Ann Penton.
