Cathy, my heart goes out to you at this difficult time. My health situation prevents me from being with you now, but I am with you in spirit. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Bill was my cousin and for a while he lived with us. We were just 6 weeks apart in age and at 9 or 10 years of age, the simplest of farm tasks were assigned to us. But oh how we suffered!! But our cries of despair fell on deaf ears!!! We were separated by time and distance but he never left my heart. We talked just a few weeks before he died. I’m grateful for that conversation.

In 1977 while living in Wetumpka,AL when my dad was stationed at Gunterr/Maxwell AFB, my dad and some of his friends, and myself, went fishing on the banks of the Alabama River. We were catching fish to replenish the neighborhood pond. So my dad put a worm on my hook. So my dad and the other adults went down the line to make sure everyone was ready to catch the ultimate fish.( A couple of hours prior, my dad and I went to the BX on base and bought a brand new rod and reel). My bate was in the water about 5 minutes and the pole started pulling. My dad went running towards me as I was reeling in my prize. I was shocked to see a snake was on my pole. My dad said to hold on. But I panicked and threw the snake and pole in the river. Needless to say I had to sit under a tree while everyone caught their prizes. Haha. Yes I skipped the part about what all my dad said when I threw it in the river. If you know my dad well, then you know what he said.
