Walter Gowan was one of the first people I met when I began volunteering at Horseshoe Bend NMP in 1996. Over the next 27 years, and in two parks, I learned to rely on Walter for friendship, support and good advice. I am sure I speak for both Horseshoe Bend and Fort Toulouse-Fort Jackson Park in saying he will be greatly missed and simply can never be replaced.
