Bob hired me as a tutor at the Natural Science Center in Troy back in 2011. During my 3 1/2 year stay at the center, Bob and I shared many laughs and deep conversations. He always saw and noted potential in me when nobody else did. We talked and wrote each other often after my departure from Troy, and I will miss that dearly. His leaving this world has left a very deep hole in my heart. Rest in peace, Dr. Sheppard. Your friend, Craig Boswell.
Bobby was my first real friend when my family moved to Troy in 1959. We used to have so much fun doing art projects together in school, and got into trouble more than once for passing drawings back and forth in class! For years, I always received a Valentine card from Bobby- no matter where I was living. Rest in peace my sweet friend, Carolyn Walter, Eureka Springs Arkansas.
Bob was a good friend and colleague since he was hired at TROY University in the eighties. He was a kind, caring individual who will be missed. Members of the Student Support Services unit at the University became like family and Bob was part of our family. Even though most of us have retired now, he is still part of our family. I regret that I will be unable to attend his graveside service, but my deepest condolences and prayers go out to you. God bless you all at this sad time.

I will certainly miss Bob as a wonderful neighbor and special friend. I know that he is in a better place and is no longer in any pain; however, I will miss knowing that he is next door to me. I hope that he knew how much he was loved and cared for by me over these past many years. I don't think I have ever known a more thoughtful, caring person than Bob.
