Funeral Service for Mr. Oscar Paul Thompson, 84, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Orr Street Baptist Church. Rev. David Grier will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memor Read Obituary
I always loved Mrs. Martha and Mr. Oscar. They're both great people. My heart and prayers are with the family.
Heaven certainly gained a true son of the Lord. I have known Mr Oscar since I was a child. A kind, soft spoken man who was always a pillar of our church. He truly loved his family.
Mr. Oscar Thompson taught our youth Sunday School class during my teenage years at Orr Street. He truly was a god-fearing man who set an example for us. I can remember his constant smile and laughter. Whenever I needed a way to church, Mr. Oscar and Mrs. Martha would pick me up. They were more than fellow church members; I considered them family.
Mr. Oscar, I know when you ran into Jesus' arms, he told you, "Job well done, my faithful servant." You will always be remembered.
