Madison Othell McCain's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Madison Othell McCain, 77, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Will Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Othell McCain passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City. Born on May 8, 1947, in Tallapoosa County, to James Madison McCain and Mary Elizabeth Milner McCain, Othell was a man of great kindness, renowned for his handy skills and selfless nature.
Othell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before embarking on a career as a millwright at Avondale. His exceptional talent as a skilled welder contributed to significant projects, including the RSA Tower in Montgomery and the Kowaliga bridge. A lifelong member of Wayside Baptist Church, he lived his faith through his actions and commitment to his community.
An outdoor enthusiast, Othell found joy and solace in nature. His legacy of dedication and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his sons, Eric (Denise) McCain of Valley and Ross (Alisha) McCain of Hanceville; grandchildren, Mallory McCain, Mia McCain, Ada McCain, Ava Olivarez, and Stephanie Fish; great-grandchildren, Oliver Fish, Thea Fish, and Emma Fish; nieces, Karen (Roger) Milstead of Milton, FL, and Carrie Malish of Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shaaron Jarrell McCain.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wayside Baptist Church, 21 Wayside Circle, Alexander City, AL 35010.
