Memorial Mass for Mrs. Kathleen Fitzgerald Frank, 72, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:30 am at the St John the Apostle Catholic Church. Father Thomas Reddy Gopu will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at St John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Kathleen Fitzgerald Frank, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away surrounded by her cherished family. Her life was a testament to the power of selflessness and the warmth of a loving heart.
Born to the late Jack Fitzgerald and Marie Rose Quesada, Kathleen grew up in a lively household with her siblings. While she was preceded in death by her brother, John Fitzgerald, and sisters Linda and Noreen Fitzgerald, her spirit is carried on by her sisters Maureen Metzger and Lisa Ratcher (Scott).
Kathleen's journey in nurturing others began with her education at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida, where she graduated with an associate degree in nursing. Her dedication to care and comfort led her to a fulfilling career, first as a labor and delivery nurse at Baptist East for 15 years, followed by a tenure of 17 years as an OR Nurse at Russell Medical Center. In both roles, Kathleen left an indelible mark on her colleagues and the many lives she touched with her skilled and tender care.Kathleen's legacy of love continues through her family. Her husband, R. Joseph Frank of Alexander City, AL, stood by her as a pillar of strength and partnership. Her sons, Sean M. Frank (Amanda), Brian J. Frank (Samantha), and Kevin A. Frank, reflect the values she instilled in them-compassion, integrity, and kindness. Her grandchildren, Kyle, Conner, and Charleston Frank will always remember their grandmother for her boundless love and the joyous times they spent together at Lake Martin.
A woman of many passions, Kathleen adored her dogs, who were her constant companions and brought her immense joy. She cherished the moments spent traveling with her family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. These experiences were not just trips but a collection of moments that stitched the fabric of their family closer together.
Kathleen's selfless nature was evident in every aspect of her life. She was the kind of person who would put others' needs above her own, ensuring that her family and friends felt loved and supported. Her kindness was a gentle force that made the world a better place, and her warm spirit was a comfort to all who knew her.As we bid farewell to Kathleen Fitzgerald Frank, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and overflowing with love. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us. Though she may have departed from this world, her spirit remains an enduring presence in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
