Jesse "Pete" Grogan's Obituary
Graveside Service for Jesse "Pete" Grogan, 85, of Moreland, Georgia, will be Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery in Goodwater, Alabama. Bro. David Arrington will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Jesse passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1938 in Clay County, Alabama, to Edward Grogan and Laverne Brown Grogan. Jesse married the love of his life, Fay Jackson Grogan, in 1961, and built a wonderful life together. He served in the National Guard for 8 years, he was a mechanic for Eastern Airlines, and was a member of Oak Lawn Baptist Church in Newnan, GA. Jesse was known for being the giver. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and make sure that others were taken care of first. In his spare time, he enjoyed anything outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and gardening. His kind heart and loving spirit will be missed.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Fay Grogan; daughter, Wendy (Jay) Gancasz; son, Steve (Angie) Grogan; grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) McGahey, Jaden Gancasz; great-grandson, Walker McGahey; brother, Carlton (Peggy) Grogan; and sister, Margene Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Laverne Grogan; brothers, Bloice Grogan, Dwight Grogan, Jimmy Grogan; and sister, Carol Hearn.
