With deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences,
Mary and I learned of Herbert's passing a few days late but remember him as a caring and passionate family member. I will always remember he and Shirley driving to my little home town in Florida and surprising me at my 75th birthday
celebration. Prayers and sympathy for
all the family.
I was very blessed to be able to have Herbert for my grandfather. I have many great memories of our time we spent together, whether is was visiting him at the lake or going on an adventure. As I think of him now I can see him sitting in his chair grilling in the driveway at the lake, behind the wheel of his pontoon boat on a summer afternoon, fishing off the dock before dark, or reading from The Bible on Christmas Day surrounded by his family. He and my Mawmaw led my cousins and I on trips all over, including Branson, The Great Smokey Mountains, and Disney World. Every moment is special. He was my fishing guide, chef, navigator, storyteller, protector, friend, role model, and even my roommate for 6 months. But more than all that, he was my Pawpaw. I will love you forever Pawpaw.
Mr. Herbert's quiet, steady strength inspired me. He and Ms. Shirley will always be some of the most important mentors of my life. I'll always remember his sense of humor. When I think of that, I remember that story he always told about the bird that he and his boyhood friends attached the fireworks to that flew up on the barn roof and blew it off. He will be missed.
With sympathy.
Remember buying my pool supplies for many years. He was a very kind and likable man who always had something nice to say 🥲. He will be missed by many 🙏🙏🙏
Much love and compassion to the entire family
We are so sorry for your loss! You will be in our thoughts and prayers! Love Always, Wes and Melanie Giles
