Frank graduated from Ensley High School in Birmingham, Alabama and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 49 where he achieved the level of Eagle Scout. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. In June of 1962, Frank married his college sweetheart, Frances Davis. Frank received two bachelor degrees from Auburn University---both in 1964. The first in Industrial Engineering and the second in Business.
After graduating from college, Frank worked for Vulcan Materials Company, Stockham Valve and the Charlotte Examiner. Frank joined Russell Corp in the 1970s and worked as Process Control Analyst, Systems Analyst and Project Manager until his retirement.
In the mid 1970’s, Frank was one of the founding members of the Windermere Volunteer Fire Department where he served continuously in many roles including Chief and Assistant Chief until his retirement. His continuous tenure to volunteer firemen for 47 years is an honored and rare service record. Due to the protocols at the time and his health, the department honored Frank for his service with a ceremony on a pleasant day in his driveway with five fire trucks and many firemen attending.
Frank and his family attended Trinity United Methodist Church where he served on the board and numerous committees involving building and maintenance. Frank particularly enjoyed his involvement in the annual Brunswick Stew Fund Raising Project.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Windermere Volunteer Fire Department.
