Lisa Houk
I had the privilege of spending a few weeks in the home of Carolyn, Gary, and Tammy Gilbert. Although 38 years have transpired since, I still remember the warmth, love, fun, and Christ-like spirit I experienced while living with them. It was such a special time to spend with family, and get to know each of them better. Truly one of the best experiences of my life, as the impressions of that visit still touch my heart, even to this day.
I learned and observed there, and over the years that Carolyn maintained the same spirit throughout her life ... a precious spirit ... one of the most pure hearted, warm, loving, giving, sweet, funny, gentle and comforting souls you could ever hope to know. It was clear she was devoted to, and loved and adored her family. I only regret that we did not have more quality time together.
I am comforted to know that Carolyn had a strong faith in Jesus, is at peace in her eternal home, and that she is now in the company of so many beloved gone before her. I know her loss will be greatly felt for a very long time.
I am praying for the peace that passes all understanding for each of her precious family members. Trust God as you continue on your own journey, and rest knowing you will see her again!
Unfortunately Dusty and I will not be able to attend services due to distance and time constraints, but please know Dusty and I will be with you in thought and in spirit, and we hope to see you soon. Please note that Dusty and I have made a Memorial donation to the Church in honor Carolyn's memory.
God bless and comfort you all in a very special and powerful way! We love you!
