Funeral Service for Mrs. Betty Nix, 97, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church Alexander City. Dr. Skip Lowery will officiate. Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Read Obituary
I am so glad that I was able to spend time with Betty. I think the one thing that stood out was her enthusiasm for life. She enjoyed even the smallest things. I want to extend my sincere condolences to all Betty’s family. She will be missed by many.
Betty Nix was the mother of my brother-in-law Mike Nix. From the first time I met her about 50 years ago, she treated me and my family like part of hers. She loved to walk, play table games and host family gatherings. Yes, there were never any leftover homemade rolls! She was very active in her community. We will always remember her lovingly.
I work for Jim Nix. I loved when Mrs. Nix would visit with Jim and Karen and would come to the office. She was a special lady and my mother and I will always treasure the afghans she made for us.

What a wonderful Saint of God Betty was. I had the special opportunity to be her Sunday School teacher at First Bapt. for a while, and what a ray of sunshine she was. She smiled all the time and was always so agreeable and kind. Her personality radiated the Lord Jesus Christ. To know her was to love her. I am praying for all of her loved ones. What a tremendous role model you had in Betty. I know you will miss her so much. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints." She is singing with the angels now and walking those streets of gold.
