Wynell Oliver Coker's Obituary
Funeral Service for Wynell Oliver Coker, 91, of New Site, Alabama, will be Monday, January 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Harris, Dr. Josh Sammons, and Rev. Tom Drake will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Coker passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on December 18, 1932 in to Alto Oliver and Lena Mae Hand Oliver. She was a longtime, active member of New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed her flowers, especially the African Violets, and gardening. She loved every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was well known for baking fabulous butternut cake.
She is survived by her son, Roger Dale Coker (Gail Barker) and Ronnie Coker (Joyce) both of New Site. grandchildren, Robin Coker Adair (John), Rachel Whiteard, Carrie Hodnett (Jacob), Shaun Coker (Fran); great-grandchildren, Connor Adair (Cheyanna Howard), Camden Coker, Hudson Lance Whiteard, Lola Grace Whiteard, Abigail Lynn Hodnett, Toby Hodnett, Anleigh Hodnett, Caroline Coker, and Oakley Coker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Lester Coker, grand daughter, Crystal Morris, daughter-in-law, Wanda Tidwell Coker, sister, Ruby Gaye Roberts, and brothers, Wilbur D. Oliver and Hugo Oliver.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be made to New Salem Baptist Church 13930 Hwy 22 East New Site, AL 36256, Rocky Creek Baptist Church 7779 Sanford Rd Alexander City, AL 35010 or New Site Harmony Church 108 Church Rd. New Site, AL 36256.
