Ms. Wilma Smith Hammock's Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Wilma Smith Hammock, 80, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Josh Sammons and Rev. Chase Clower will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Ms. Hammock passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born on August 1, 1940 in Clay County, Alabama to William Abner Smith and Ora Mildred Burkhalter Smith. She was a member of Hillabee Baptist Church. Wilma was a true southern lady that took pride in her appearance and always enjoyed dressing up for any occasion. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and keeping in touch with the many friends she made over her 20 year career at Belk’s Department Store. She always enjoyed watching Auburn football on Saturdays in the fall.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hammock (Lisa) of Marietta, GA; nephews, Garry Smith (Peggy), Lanny Smith (Becky), David Lane (Donna) and niece, Joann Smith (Jeff).
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Smith Lane and nephew, George Lane.
