I met Bill working for Habitat. He was an important part of the Miles Ward Thursday crew. He and Lou Coldren would do most of the electrical work. He was always fun to work with and to be around. I loved to hear his stories about panning for gold. I am also very thankful that he was a lousy poker player. He will be greatly missed.
My Dad, I will always remember my Dad as the Man who could (Fix anything). I actually thought of him as a genius. He would build electronic devices from scratch such as CB amplifiers, metal detectors, a hang glider, even a gyro copter and a home for our family. Dad was always looking for ways to improve our lives and to keep us entertained as well. He never turned anyone down in need of help, loved to help everyone with their needs
( could fix anything) I can remember sitting with him in his workshop as he repaired CB radios, tv sets and anything electronic for anyone who ask. That's when I said " that's what I want to do is help people with their needs". We talked about his time in Vietnam (Danang Ab) as a USAF technician and I was so impressed with his stories and knew right then I wanted to be just like him a United States Airforce Airman. Thank you Dad for steering me in the right direction. This does not even begin to to tell the story of my dad that was so caring and giving to our family and a hero in my eyes. Our Dad was the best that anyone could ask for. ( He fixed me) I love you and may you rest in peace. BW.
Bill was such a nice and gentle man. My condolences to Joann and the family.
We called him "Billy" and I first met him in 1949, we were life long friends. It was back before little league and recreation centers when you made your own fun. the memories we made would fill a large book. We attended the Hunt Memorial neighborhood church .
The pastor wanted to start a boys Sunday school class so Billy, my brother, Glenn and I went through the neighborhood and recruited one. He was the most outstanding all sports athlete I have ever been around. I recall him playing safety on Alexander City's outstanding 1953 team when he was only in 8th grade and led our 7th and 8th grade team to two undefeated seasons. lots of fond memories . Sandra and I express sincere sympathy and love to you and your family. Earl and Sandra Wilson

So sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. Our thoughts and prayers are with are of the family during this most difficult time.
