Mrs. Gunn, lovingly known as May, was born on June 11, 1945 in Jefferson County, Alabama to Edward Smith and Ruby Snow Smith. She entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2026. She was a faithful Christian woman whose life reflected kindness, warmth, and a deep love for the Lord. May lived her life with grace and humility, and she touched the hearts of many through her gentle spirit and caring nature. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving and outgoing person who brought comfort, joy, and encouragement to everyone around her.
May found great happiness in the simple blessings of life. She loved fishing and spending time outside, where she could enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and the peace that came with being in nature. Whether she was sitting quietly by the water or enjoying the fresh air outdoors, she appreciated the moments that allowed her to slow down and reflect on the goodness of life. Her love for the outdoors was a true part of who she was, and it brought her much joy throughout her years.
Above all, May cherished her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Her love for them was deep and unwavering, and she delighted in being present in their lives. She offered them affection, wisdom, and encouragement, and she created memories that will remain in their hearts forever. Her grandchildren were a source of great joy to her, and she embraced her role in their lives with tenderness and pride. The bond she shared with them was a beautiful reflection of her loving heart.
May was known for her outgoing personality and her ability to make others feel welcome and valued. She had a way of brightening a room with her presence and making people feel at ease. Her kindness was sincere, and her words often carried comfort and reassurance. She lived with a spirit of generosity and compassion, and she was always willing to share a smile, a conversation, or a helping hand. Her life was a blessing to those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a Christian, May trusted in the promises of God and lived with faith in His mercy and love. Her life was grounded in the hope that comes through Christ, and she carried herself with the quiet strength that faith provides. Even in life’s challenges, she remained steadfast in her beliefs and continued to show love and grace to others. Her faith was not only a part of her life, but a guiding light that shaped the way she lived and the way she cared for those around her.
May’s passing leaves a deep sorrow in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will continue to live on in the lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will not be forgotten. Her family and friends will remember her for her warm heart, her joyful spirit, and the many ways she made life brighter for others. Though she is no longer present in body, her spirit remains cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.
