Mr. Wilfred Allen Black's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Wilfred Allen Black, 96, of Daviston, Alabama, will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Daviston Baptist Church. Rev. Clyde Coker, Bro. Ray Dunn, and Rev. Bennie Lee Yates will officiate. Burial will follow in the Daviston Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Black passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born on June 2, 1921 in Alexander City, Alabama to Walter Cass Black and Lillie Black. He was an active member of Daviston Baptist Church. Mr. Black worked with the Soil Conservation Service for 30 years and was a mail carrier for 30 years. He enjoyed reading and watching Bill Gaither videos, and loved farming.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Donald) Denney of Pinson; sons, Edward (Doris) Black of Alexander City, David Black of Daviston, and Stanley Black of Daviston; granddaughters, Amy Parker and Tracie Denney; grandsons, Michael Denney and Brandon Black; and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne D. Black, his parents, and his brother, Clifford Black, Sr.
The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to the Daviston Baptist Church, PO Box 115, Daviston, AL, 36256.
