Funeral Service for Mr. Wendell N. White, 83, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. White passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Chapman Healthcare Center. He was born on October 19, 1939 in Alachua, Florida to Henry Grady White and Winnie Edith Tucker White. Wendell served his country in the United States Army in Friedberg, Germany during the Berlin Wall Crisis. After serving, he graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Transportation. He then graduated from Loyola University in Chicago where he received his MBA. Wendell retired from Russell Athletics. He was a Civil War historian, an avid Alabama Football fan, and a lifetime member of the S.C.V. Wendell loved to travel, study genealogy, and go target shooting. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Betty White of Alexander City; sons, Wendell Gregory White (Desiree) of Kaufman, TX, Barry Alan White (Julie) of Pike Road, and Jason Stanford White (Cindy) of Destin, FL; grandchildren, Gregory Alan White, Amber Michelle White, Sable Monique Thorpe (Jamie), Mary Mason White, Ashton Victoria White, Adams Stanford White, and Ansley Grace White; great-grandchildren, Tatum White, Victoria Morales, Lillian Thorpe, Benjamin Salome, Frankie Morales, Isaac Thorpe, Abraham Salome, and Enrique Morales; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lee Mason White; and sisters, Jo Ann Hopkins, and Debra Renee White.
