Funeral Service for Wayne Weeks, 81, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Rockford Church of God. Pastor Chris Hill will officiate.
Mr. Wayne Weeks, a cherished pillar of his community and a beacon of faith, generosity, and love, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on February 21, 1943, Wayne's journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his church, and the many lives he touched with his kindness.
Wayne was a devout member of the Rockford Church of God, where his presence was a constant source of comfort and inspiration. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and interactions with everyone he met. Wayne's loving nature was evident in the way he embraced life's challenges with grace and optimism, always finding the good in people and situations.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his son, David Wayne Weeks and his wife Sandy of Calera, AL; his daughters, Teresa Weeks and Melissa Weeks, both of Acworth, GA; his grandchildren, Jesse Weeks and his wife Lauren, Justin Weeks and his wife Margaret, Kelsie Sanders, David Pittman, James Pittman, and Lucy Pittman; and his great-grandchild, Rhett Weeks, who all brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Wayne's memory will also be cherished by his brother, Jimmy Weeks and his wife Carolyn; his brother-in-law, Collins Knowles and his wife Donna; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Weeks. These family members, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, will miss his generous spirit and the warmth of his presence.
Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Mary Agnes Weeks, who was undoubtedly waiting to welcome him with open arms. Wayne was also preceded in death by his father, James Cecil Weeks; his mother, Lona Bell Weeks Redding; his brother, Ronnie Weeks; and his stepfather, Jesse Redding. The reunion with his loved ones in eternity was a moment he looked forward to with hope and faith.
Throughout his life, Wayne was known for his generosity. He gave freely of his time, resources, and wisdom, always eager to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. He possessed an innate ability to make others feel valued and loved, a trait that endeared him to many and will be sorely missed.
Wayne's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his influence will continue to be felt through the countless lives he enriched. His legacy is one of unwavering faith, boundless love, and selfless generosity - virtues that will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Mr. Wayne Weeks, we do so with the assurance that his life was well-lived and his spirit will remain with us. We celebrate the time we had with him and take comfort in the knowledge that his faith has now been made sight.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Wayne will be laid to rest in a private ceremony, surrounded by those who loved him most. As we honor his memory, let us hold fast to the lessons he imparted and strive to live by the example he set - an example of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and unparalleled generosity. Rest in peace, Wayne; your legacy will endure.
