Mrs. Vivian McEachern Adamson's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Vivian McEachern Adamson, 104, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Branch of First United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike Densmore will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Trinity Branch of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Adamson passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on January 20, 1913 in Alexander City, Alabama to Ernest Victor Brooks and Medie Chapell Brooks. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was a leader of the WMU, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. She was very athletic and played basketball on the Russell Mfg. Basketball team. Mrs. Adamson was an avid reader, enjoyed playing dominoes, and other games. Her best advice to family and friends was “pretty is as pretty does.”
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara M. Patton (Tom) of Alexander City, Jo Ann M. Mayes (Floyd) of Fairfax, VA, Martha M. Limbaugh of Tallapoosa, GA, and Linda M. Foy (Buddy) of Eclectic; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Annie B Gooden, Estelle B Moore, and Ethel Peters; and brothers, Ernest Brooks, William Brooks, and Clyde Brooks.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Trinity Branch of First United Methodist Church 3266 Highway 280 Alexander City, AL 35010.
