Mrs. Virginia T. Hawkins' Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Virginia T. Hawkins, 84, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hillview Memorial Park. Ms. Regan Moreland will officiate.
Virginia passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 9, 1938 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Robert Tapley and Lorene Brown Reeves. In December of 1988, she married her husband, Joseph Randall "Randy" Hawkins and had loved him even after his passing last July. Virginia was a strong, Christian woman who loved her Lord. She was always kind, caring, and attentive to her family and friends whenever they needed her. Virginia was the type of person who never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off her own back. She enjoyed reading and playing various games like cards and dominoes. Bingo was her absolute favorite game to play! Virginia loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Grandmother." Virginia developed Alzheimer's and things started to fade, but the one thing that remained was her strong will, devotion to the Lord, and the image of a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. That memory will never fade within the hearts of all that knew her.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Donald J. (Barbara) Fuller, Steve J. (Margarita) Fuller; daughters, Susan Weston, Angela Easterwood, Nancy Fuller; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); 4 great-great-grandchildren (plus one on the way); sister-in-law, Carolyn Tapley; special Niece, Rhonda Watts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Hawkins; parents, Robert Tapley and Lorene Reeves; brother, Bobby Lee Tapley; sisters, Dorothy Webb, Helen Berry; and 2 great-grandchildren, Eric Weston and Brookes Anthony "Little B" Steen.
The family would like to give a special and sincere thank you to Covenant Hospice and Ivy Creek Home Health for their compassionate help with taking care of Mrs. Virginia.
