Mrs. Virginia Darling Futral's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Virginia Futral, 83, of Goodwater, Alabama, will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Ken Milner and Bro. Daniel Dean will officiate. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Virginia Darling Futral passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Baptist South Medical Center. She was born on February 4, 1941, in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was the daughter of Mr. Azariah Darling and Mrs. Thelma Lou Baird Darling.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Wendy Futral Anderson (Robby) of Wetumpka; grandchildren, Jasmine Nichole Anderson and William "Will" Michael Anderson of Wetumpka; sisters-in-law, Teresa Scott (Ed) of Goodwater and Gail Darling of Sylacauga; brother-in-law, Jessie Cecil Futral (Carolyn) of Collinsville, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, William J. Futral; sister-in-law, Martha Smith; brothers, Curtis "Hoot" Darling, Daniel Darling, John Darling, and Kenneth Darling.
Virginia was a member of Smyrna Primitive Baptist Church in Goodwater, AL. She loved Sacred Harp Singing. Her last job was working as a substitute teacher in the Coosa County School System. She was a farmer's wife. She was known for her cooking skills as well as selling their vegetables, fruit, canned goods, and honey at local farmer's markets alongside her husband.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical staff at Elmore Community Hospital and Baptist South Medical Center. They would also like to thank the many special friends that have helped Virginia in the past few years.
