Mrs. Virginia Daugherty's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Virginia Daugherty, 91, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Daugherty passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Russell Medical. She was born on November 1, 1926 in Alexander City, Alabama to James William Patton and Nellie Pearl Patton. She was an active member of Orr Street Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She was very active in her church life, loved her church family dearly, and led many to a closer walk with the Lord. Mrs. Daugherty was an excellent cook and was known for her red velvet cake and lemon ice box pie. She loved her family and always gave heartily to them.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Daugherty (Belinda) of Jacksons Gap and Rick Daugherty (Linda) of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Jamie Farmer (Tim), Tiffany Commander (Cason), Emily Kirk (Kendall), Mary Wise (Michael), David Kaye (Tricia), Amy Aadland (Gerry); great-grandchildren, Costa Head (Thomas), Marianna Farmer (Patrick Lynch), Sarah Beth Guidry, Callie Commander, Katie Kirk, Caulden Kirk, Jack Wise, Andy Wise, Evy Aadland, and Aiden Kaye; and brother, Tom Patton (Barbara) of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Daugherty; her parents, J.W. and Pearl Patton; brother, William Floyd Patton; sister, Betty P. Templeton.
The family will accept flowers, but prefers that memorial contributions be made to the Orr Street Baptist Church, 939 O Street, Alexander City, AL 35010.
