Leon, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born into the warm embrace of his parents, John Noah and Agnes McCain, Leon’s life was a testament to his enduring faith and the love he shared with those around him. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy of love and devotion will forever remain.
Leon’s life was one of steadfast commitment, not only to his family but also to his work and community. He dedicated an impressive 49 years of service to Russell Corporation, where his work ethic and camaraderie were an inspiration to his colleagues. His involvement in various associations throughout his career further exhibited his dedication to service and community building.
At home, Leon’s life was filled with the harmonious sounds of music and laughter. He had a passion for playing the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin, which brought joy to all who had the pleasure of listening. His love for his church family was profound, as evidenced by his unwavering attendance his entire life. A man of many words, Leon's voice resonated within the church walls as the superintendent of the Sunday school, where he guided many with wisdom and grace.
Beyond his spiritual and musical interests, Leon found solace in the tranquility of his garden. The fruits of his labor were not just the vegetables and flowers that thrived under his care but also the moments of peaceful reflection and connection to the earth. His love for gardening was just one of the many facets of a life lived with intention and joy.
Married to the love of his life, Marnetha McCain, for an awe-inspiring 71 years, Leon's commitment to his beloved wife was the cornerstone of their beautiful life together. Their love story was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and unwavering support, setting a remarkable example for their children and successive generations.
Leon's memory will be eternally cherished by his devoted wife, Marnetha McCain; his children, Deborah Clark, Shannon (Mickey) Milner, Wayne (Vicky) McCain, and Dale (Donna) McCain. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Erin (Reed) Adair, Cory (Hali) Clark, Megan (Josh) Hamlin, Morgan (Nick) Harris, Devon Glidewell, Hayden (Ryan) Whaley, Micah (Sarah Ann) McCain, Marlee (Patrick) Duffie, and Brooke Milner; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Carter Adair, Avery Adair, Emmaline Clark, Elodie Clark, Emory Hamlin, Ean Hamlin, Eleanor Harris, Ezra Harris, Hadley Waites, Hudson Whaley, Landon Duffie, Gunnar Duffie, Brylee Mueller, and Gabriel Glidewell.
