Mrs Victoria " Gale" Mayfield's Obituary
Mrs. Victoria “Gale” Mayfield, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, a cherished sister, a faithful friend, and a very proud grandmother whose life was a beautiful reflection of her deep love for the Lord. Gale lived her life anchored in faith. She trusted God in all seasons and shared His love through kindness and compassion. Her faith was evident in her interactions with others and her generous heart.
As a wife she was a loyal and faithful partner. As a mother she was nurturing, patient, and endlessly supportive, especially to her youngest son, Todd, who needed her extraordinary care long past childhood. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, and she leaves behind two young men who know that they were adored. As a military wife and mother Gale was very active in Officer Wives activities and was once honored as the Fort Monroe, Virginia Mother-of-the-Year. She loved to dance and was a Jitterbug queen! In her later years she was an avid Domino and Rook player.
She was a very active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Alexander City and was a founding member of the Monday Night Mission Group. She was an active and valued member of the Adult IV Coed Class.
Gale will be remembered for her sweet spirit, warm smile, and the way she let her family and friends know that they were special and cherished. She leaves behind a family who will miss her wisdom, her prayers, and the example she set through a life well lived in Christ. She is survived by her loving husband Tim, children Truman (Rhonda) and Tori, brother Robert (Robyn), sisters Lynn Sides and Mary Ann (Paul) Farmer, and grandchildren Larkin and Gavin, as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice and to Haley Stewart, Sheila Ford, and JoAnn Butler for the exceptional care they provided to Gale in recent days. Though our hearts will mourn her passing, we find joy in knowing she is now at peace, rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:20 p.m., followed by a service at 1:30 at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 10. Donations to First Baptist Church Alexander City requested in lieu of flowers.
