Vaneal McDaniel Fanning, a beacon of joy and boundless energy, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Her life was marked by her loving nature, her with, and her thoughtful approach to everyone she encountered. Vaneal, a graduate of Mellow Valley High School, left an indelible mark on her community through her work and her passion for connecting with people.
After dedicating 38 years of service to Western Union, Vaneal retired, but she never slowed down. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to become the proud owner of Sight Seeing Travel Club and Perfect Tan and Hair, where her magnetic personality shone brightly. She was not only a savvy businesswoman but also a cherished member of her community, whose presence uplifted everyone around her.
Vaneal's interests were as vibrant and diverse as her character. She had an insatiable love for sightseeing, which perfectly complemented her role at the travel club. Logan Martin Lake held a special place in her heart, as it was a sanctuary where she found peace and joy. Her daughter, Karen F. Paulovich (Joe), was the light of her life, and the time they spent together in Mountain Brook, AL, was filled with laughter and cherished memories.
Family was the cornerstone of Vaneal's world. Her daily conversations with her brother, Hugh McDaniel (Flo), and her sister, Nita Spraggins, were a testament to the deep bonds they shared. Her brother, Buddy McDaniel, both of Birmingham, AL, also held a special place in her heart. These relationships were the threads that wove the fabric of her life, creating a tapestry of love and support that extended to everyone she met. Vaneal's ability to connect with people was unparalleled; she never met a stranger and was known as an excellent people person.
Her laughter was infectious, and her sense of humor was one of the many gifts she shared freely. Vaneal was the embodiment of thoughtfulness, always considering the needs and feelings of others before her own. Her caring nature was evident in evert aspect of her life, from her interactions with her family and friends to her dedication to her customers and clients.
Vanela was preceded in death by her father, Hollis McDaniel, her mother, Willie Maude McDaniel, and her brother, Donnie Newman McDaniel. Her son, Larry Fanning, also passed before her, leaving a space that she held in her heart with loving memories.As we celebrate Vaneal's life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many, her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the profound influence of life well-lived. Vaneal McDaniel Fanning will be dearly missed, but the memories she created will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
