Funeral Service for Mr. Tommy Jack Cole, 95, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Monday, January 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Flint Hill Church. Rev. John Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Flint Hill Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Flint Hill Church.
Tommy Jack Cole, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born into the hands of Paul and Gladys Cole, Tommy's life was a tapestry woven with dedication, kindness, and wisdom. His beloved wife, Charlotte Arlene Cole, and siblings Robert Cole, Earldean Krutulis, Margie Railey, and Paul Cole Jr. have preceded him in passing, leaving a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Tommy's professional life was marked by an impressive tenure with the city of Alexander City, where he retired after 60 years of faithful service. His roles in the water department and as the city building inspector showcased his commitment to the community, he held dear. His work was not just a job but a testament to his dedication to the well-being and infrastructure of the city he helped to maintain and improve over the decades.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tommy was a man of many interests and passions. An avid Auburn football fan, he bled orange and blue, reveling in the triumphs of his favorite team. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing, a pastime that provided him with both relaxation and joy. Tommy was also deeply faithful, serving as a dedicated member of Flint Hill Church, where he found spiritual solace and fellowship.
Tommy's green thumb could be seen in his well-tended garden and impeccably kept yard, reflecting his love for nature and the outdoors. He had a knack for making things grow and took great pride in the beauty he created and maintained around his home. Additionally, Christmas was a special family holiday for Tommy, a time of togetherness, celebration, and the creation of lasting memories with those he held dear.
Described by those who knew him as handy, kind, and wise, Tommy was the kind of person who could fix almost anything, offer a listening ear, and share thoughtful advice. His kind-hearted nature and wisdom made him a pillar in his community and a source of comfort and guidance to his family and friends.
Tommy is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy: his son, Marty Lee Cole of San Francisco, CA; his daughter, Kimberly (Ben) Singleton of Eclectic, AL; his grandchildren, Stephany L. (Brandon) Flemings, Alana P. (Tyler) Sasser, and Dell A. (Billy) Solares; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Hudson Miles, Rylie Flemings, Lavender Flemings, Iris Flemings, Juniper Flemings, and Daisy Flemings.
Tommy Jack Cole's life was a journey of purpose, love, and service. His memory will be held close in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. His wisdom will continue to guide, his kindness will remain a comforting embrace, and his legacy will live on through the beautiful family he loved so dearly. Tommy's life was one well-lived, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
