Funeral Service for Mr. Toliver Britton, 89, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Steve King will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Russell Farm Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Toliver Britton, a devoted family man and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Born on February 9, 1937, to Clarence Britton and Thula Emfinger, Toliver's life was a testament to love, friendship, and generosity. His journey through life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his faith, family, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched.
A loving husband to his wife, Betty Britton, Toliver's marriage was a beautiful example of partnership and devotion. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms. Betty and Toliver's bond was one of mutual respect and admiration, and their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Toliver was the proud father of three sons, Tim (Michelle) Britton, Ken (Candi) Britton, and Greg Britton. He took great pride in their accomplishments and was a constant source of encouragement and wisdom. As a father, he instilled in them the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion. His sons remember him as a guiding light in their lives, always ready with a listening ear and sage advice.
His legacy extends to his beloved grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh) Bolon, Eric (Mary-Harmon) Britton, Heather (Ben) Newman, Mitch (Briana) Smith, and Heather (Jeb) Kitchens as well as fifteen great-grandchildren. Toliver cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, delighting in their achievements and offering his unwavering support. He was a doting grandfather who took great joy in sharing stories, imparting life lessons, and creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
In addition to his immediate family, Toliver is survived by his sisters, Eula-Mae, and Gloria, who held a special place in his heart. The bond he shared with his sisters was one of deep affection and mutual support, and they were a constant presence in each other's lives. Toliver's family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his love for them was boundless.
Throughout his life, Toliver was known for his friendly and approachable nature.
