Mr. Thomas Glenn "Mop Mop" Wyatt's Obituary
Thomas Glenn Wyatt, affectionately known as Glenn "Mop Mop," was born on June 29, 1957, in Alexander City, AL. He peacefully passed away on September 4, 2023, in Daviston, AL, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication.
Glenn was born to the late Thomas Odell Wyatt and Marie Wyatt. He was the jovial brother of Sherry Crockett and the late Tony, Jeff, and Donnie Ray Wyatt. He was also a beloved brother-in-law to Sara Arnold, Marion Brooks, Jerry Brooks (Bonita), Shelbra Butler, the late Helen Ralston, and Emma Jean Thornton. Glenn was an adored uncle to a host of nieces and nephews who hold fond memories of him.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Cornelia Brooks Wyatt. He was the proud father of Kimberly Owens, Brandi Patterson (Josh), Kylie Wall (Shane), Timothy Wyatt (Christy), and his sidekick Josiah David Wyatt. Glenn was an adored grandfather to Destiny Wyatt, Shaun Wyatt, Elizabeth Wyatt, Joseph Wyatt, Brianna Mayne (Madison), Ty Patterson, Angel McCoy (Zack), Brady Patterson, Grace Patterson, Stephen Walker, Allison Royal (Aidan), Sarah Wall, TJ Wall, Cole Glenn, and Makenzie Yarbrough. Glenn was a dedicated employee at Russell Corporation, where he worked for 32 years and retired as a Supervisor. His strong work ethic and commitment to his job were admired by his colleagues and subordinates. He was known as a hard worker and a jack of all trades, albeit a master of none.
His adventurous spirit shone through in his interests. Glenn was an avid Auburn fan, enjoyed keeping his yard immaculate, and loved doing word search puzzles. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. Glenn had a special way with children. He was always game for whatever the grandchildren wanted to do, earning their love and respect. His love for children extended beyond his family, as he was also loved by everyone else's children.
Glenn was known for his humor. He had an uncanny ability to lighten any situation with his wit and charm. His adventurous spirit was infectious, and he had a knack for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. He was also incredibly handy, always ready to lend a hand or fix anything that needed repairing.
