Thomas Page Speaks, a beacon of love and generosity, left this world on a peaceful note, surrounded by the warmth of his cherished family. His departure leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and an unquenchable passion for the great outdoors.
Born to the late James Benton Speaks and Ruth Speaks, Thomas carved a life rich with love and laughter. His heart found its match in the love of his life, Rebecca Jean Speaks, who predeceased him, as did his siblings Dianne Phillips, Peggy Speaks, Janice Haynes, and J.W. Speaks. The family bonds Thomas nurtured will continue to thrive through his surviving daughters, Kim (Dean) Mask of Dadeville, AL, and Dwana (Jeff) Harrelson of Alexander City, AL; his treasured grandson, Truett Cole Harrelson; and his brothers, Ricky and Benny Speaks.
Thomas's life was a tapestry woven with deep family ties and an unwavering commitment to his faith. A loving and generous man by nature, he was the embodiment of strength and reliability for those he held dear. His daughters and grandson were the pride of his life, and he devoted himself to their happiness and well-being with every breath.
An avid fisherman, Thomas's passion for the sport was as vast as the lakes he frequented. His competitive spirit shone brightly as he participated in numerous fishing tournaments, often outsmarting the fish with his skill and patience. His role as the boat captain for his grandson's high school fishing team was a source of immense joy, as he cherished the opportunity to share his love of fishing with the younger generation. The lessons he imparted on the water-patience, perseverance, and respect for nature-will be treasured by his protégés for years to come.
Thomas's spirit was as serene as the waters he sailed, and his presence could calm the most troubled waters. His generosity extended beyond his family; he was a pillar in his community, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His faith-filled life was an inspiration to many, guiding them through life's storms with a steady hand and a hopeful heart.
The void left by Thomas's passing will be felt deeply by all who knew him, but his legacy will continue to ripple through the lives he touched. His love for his family, his passion for fishing, and his unwavering faith are the gifts he leaves behind-a treasure trove of memories that will be cherished and passed down through generations.
As the sun sets on a life well-lived, we bid farewell to Thomas Page Speaks, knowing that his journey was one of purpose and love.
