Funeral service for Mr. Thomas Kenneth Clampitt, 55, of Jacksons Gap, will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Freddie Senn and Bro. Michael Crane will officiate. Burial will follow in the Tallapoosa Memory Garden. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Clampitt passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Columbus Specialty Hospital. He was born on November 22, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia to Warren Kenneth Clampitt and Sara Lee Smith Clampitt. Mr. Clampitt was a great family man and daddy. He loved spending time with his family and dancing with Mrs. Clampitt. Mr. Clampitt worked as a Sales Associate at Walmart for 15 years. He also loved Christmas, fishing, trains, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Lee Griffin Clampitt of Jacksons Gap; daughters, Brenda Lee Clampitt (Tammi), of Charleston, SC, Christy Ann Watkins (James), of Alexander City, Amy Nichole Baker (Jimmy), of Lineville, and Ashley Elizabeth Clampitt (Will) of Jacksons Gap; sons, Byron Lee Kirby (Brooke) and Jamie Lynn Kirby (Shannon), both of Williamson, GA; grandchildren, Dustin Harper, Nicholas Kirby, Autumn Kirby, Abby Kirby, Emily Clampitt, Symantha Clardy, Chandler McClure, Ethan Baker, James Watkins, Nicolas Watkins, Eli Baker, Brendan Clampitt, Chloe Kirby, Evan Baker, and Zachary Watkins; father, Warren Kenneth Clampitt of Eatonton, GA; sisters, Peggy Fitzgibbon and Sarah Lee Macias, both of Waynesville, NC; brothers, Eddie Smith of Waynesville, NC and Howard Tumlin of Atlanta, GA; father-in-law, Oswell Griffin; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Griffin.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Ray Patterson.
