Mrs. Teena Blythe's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Teena Blythe, 83, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:30 pm at Cornerstone First Global Methodist Church. Rev. Billy Coleman will officiate. Burial will follow at Seman Congregation Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blythe passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on December 11, 1942 to S.C. Butler and Elsie Mae Butler, Teena's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her keen political mind, and her memorable sense of humor.
Teena's life was a testament to the power of laughter and resilience. Her sharp wit could illuminate even the dullest of rooms, and her humor brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She navigated life's challenges with a toughness and strength that inspired those around her, teaching by example that perseverance, tenacity, and a positive attitude can overcome even the toughest of obstacles.
A politically minded individual, Teena was always up-to-date with current affairs and enjoyed engaging in thoughtful discussions. Her insights and opinions were valued by her friends and family, who admired her ability to dissect complex issues with clarity and passion. She believed in the importance of staying informed and was a vocal advocate for the causes she held dear.
Above all, Teena was devoted to her family. She reveled in the role of grandmother, watching her grandchildren grow and flourish, imparting wisdom and sharing in their milestones. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and the memories they created together will be cherished forever.
Teena's legacy is one of love, laughter, and determination. She is survived by her son, Derrick (Amy) Blythe of Dadeville; grandchildren, Jolie Blythe (J.R.) Waters of Alexander City and Dakota (Gracie) Blythe of Cusseta; bonus grandchildren, Danielle Caldwell of Alexander City and Dakota (Gene) Lamb of Daviston; great-grandchild, Macie Waters; bonus great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lamb, Gracie Lamb, Jase Lamb, Hudson Caldwell, Cade Caldwell; sisters, Patty Oliver of New Site and Brenda Forehand of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry Butler; and her former husband of 28 years, Bishop Blythe.
