Mrs. Suzie Mae Brodka's Obituary
Suzie Whitehead Brodka, age 65, of Kellyton, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on November 8,2025
Born on June 17, 1960, Suzie was the daughter of Hoyt Whitehead and the late Clara Faye Whitehead (née Stewart). She will be remembered as a strong, caring woman who lived her life in service to others — always ready to help, support, or lovingly set someone straight when they needed it most.
Suzie’s greatest joys were found in the simple, meaningful moments of life — casting a line at a family pond, watching a sunset on the coast, or listening to her favorite oldies late at night with a cup of coffee in hand. She spent many years working in customer service across Tallapoosa County, including with Dollar General, Sunny Foods, and several local gas stations. It was through one of these roles that she met her late husband, Teddy Brodka, with whom she shared many loving years.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Suzie’s love for her family knew no limits. She cherished her children and adored her grandchildren, celebrating each new addition to the family with overwhelming joy. She also had a lifelong love of animals, proudly embracing her role as a “cat lady” and even volunteering her time with the local animal shelter when she was able.
Suzie is survived by her father, Hoyt Whitehead; her children; her beloved grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Faye Whitehead, and her husband, Teddy Brodka.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service in the https://chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lake Martin Animal Shelter in Suzie’s memory — honoring her lifelong love for animals. Suzie’s strength, humor, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
