Mr. Steve Welsh's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Steve Welsh, 77, of Wadley, Alabama, will be Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at Mountain Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Sprayberry and Rev. Tim Whaley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mountain Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Welsh passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at his residence. He was born on December 10, 1946 in Roanoke, Alabama to Joe Carl Welsh and Sara Bob Liles Welsh. He was a faithful member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church. Steve retired as the Assistant Superintendent of the Poultry Science Research Farm at Auburn University. He loved to go fishing and enjoyed taking care of his farm and cows. Steve enjoyed traveling with his family all over the country. He believed in hard work, just ask his grandsons. Above all, Steve was a devout Christian and loved to read his Bible and witness to anyone he came into contact with.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jean Welsh of Wadley; daughter, Caryl (Will) Smith of Daviston; grandchildren, Tim (Jasmine) Estes of Phenix City, Justin (Chelsea) Estes of Daviston, and David (Shannon) Estes of Carrollton, GA; great-grandchildren, Lula Estes, Piper Menck, Raylee Estes, Parker Estes, Josie Estes, Evan Estes, and Silas Estes; great-great-grandchild, Oaklynn Phillips; sister, Joan Welsh (Steve) Miller of Sylacauga; brother, Phillip Joel (Donna) Welsh of Wadley; sisters-in-law, Joan Bishop of Wadley, Shirley Rainwater of Kellyton, and Mitzi (Johnny) Moran of Dadeville; special caregiver, Ashley Jordan and her daughter, Emmie; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
