Mr. Steve A. Elrod's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Steve A. Elrod, 61, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Donnie Mapp will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hepsabah Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleburne County at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Elrod passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his residence. He was born on August 10, 1955 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Arthur Elrod and Evelyn Elrod. He was a member of Hepsabah Baptist in Cleburne County. Mr. Elrod was an avid Auburn fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Diane Elrod of Alexander City; daughter, Ellen Bonner (Bubba) of Heflin; son, Terry Langley of Ohatchee; grandchildren, Jonathan Langley (Holly) and Cody Langley (Madison); great-grandchildren, Cali Langley and T.J. Langley; brother, Ted Elrod; sisters, Kay Promroy, Mike Trammell (John) and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. David Hensleigh and the staff of the Clay County Hospice for the care they provided to Steve. Most of all to his mother in law, Virginia Powell who spent countless hours caring for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny Elrod.
