Mrs. Shirley Smelley's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Shirley Smelley, 66, of Alexander City, will be Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 11:30 am at the Alexander City Cemetery. Rev. Rick Levell will officiate.
Mrs. Smelley passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Russell Medical. She was born on June 1, 1954 in Alexander City, Alabama to Willie Lashley and Lorean Tapley. She was an active member of Marshall Street Church. She loved her flowers and spent much of her time in the yard and garden. She was known for her coconut cake, and was always in the kitchen baking something. She loved crafts and was always creating something for someone. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Scott Smelley of Destin, FL; daughter, Carrie Lynn Smelley of Alexander City, AL; granddaughter, Shaunna Elizabeth Smelley of Alexander City, AL; brother, Michael Lashley (Amy) of Alexander City, AL; numerous nieces & nephews; and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over forty-five years, Roger Franklin Smelley; parents; and brother, Douglas Lashley.
