Mrs. Shirley Frances Mezick's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Shirley Frances Mezick, 82, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mezick passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on October 16, 1936 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Jesse Ed Landers and Lilly Bell Harris Landers Russell. Through the years, Mrs. Mezick has raised many kids in the Alex City area, as she ran her own daycare and was known as “Mrs. Shirley”. She was an excellent cook and loved Conway Twitty and his music.
She is survived by her sons, Gene Mezick (Lynn) of Mobile and Eddie Mezick (Vicky) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Will Mezick (Jennifer), Ben Mezick (Allison), Alden Mezick (Melanie), Hayden Mezick, Michael Mezick (Rachel), David Mezick, Miles Mezick (Linda) and Dylan Mezick; five great grandchildren; and sister, Jeanette Persons of Sylacauga.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otis Cleveland Mezick; son, Ken Mezick; brother, James E. Landers; and sister, Joan Stroud.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Children’s Harbor, One Our Children’s Highway, Children’s Harbor, AL 35010.
