Shari Holley
Dear Granny,
It has only been a few days, yet my heart already knows how deeply you are missed. The world feels quieter without your smile, your stories, and the comfort of simply being near you. Even so, I’m trying to hold on to the joy you brought into my life, the laughter, the warmth, and the steady love that never wavered.
Affectionately known as “Granny”...a title filled with so many roles, you survived life with honor and strength. You were the rock of our family, wrapping your arms around us in every way that mattered. Even now, I feel you guiding us, loving us, and holding us close. Your love will carry on within our hearts forever. I will always remember the smile on your face every time you saw one of us, a smile so full of love it is truly unforgettable.
You were the strongest, wisest, and kindest woman I have ever known. You taught me how to face challenges with grace, how to laugh in the face of adversity, and how to love without limits. Everything you taught me, about life, kindness, and what it truly means to be a good person, will stay with me forever. I am so lucky to have had you as my grandmother, my mentor, my cheerleader, and my friend.
I would give anything to hug you one last time, but I take comfort in knowing you are now at peace, free from the struggles of this world. Your spirit feels close... like a whisper in the air, the morning light on my face, or a gentle breeze reminding me I am never alone. I know you’re watching over us, sending love from above, guiding and protecting us just as you always have.
There truly was magic in your touch and sunshine in your smile. There was love in everything you did to make our lives worthwhile. You’ve left behind an unbreakable legacy of love, and I promise to live my life in a way that honors you every single day.
Thank you for everything, Granny. You were my hero. I love you, now and always. Please keep watch over us until we are together again.
Until we meet again,
