Mrs. Sara Rebecca Radney Edge\r\n1921-2010\r\n\r\nGraveside funeral services for Mrs. Sara Rebecca Radney Edge, 88, of Alexander City, will be Friday, December 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the LaFayette City Cemetery. Rev. James Haskins, Dr. Bill Etheridge and Rev. Kevin Payne will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The First United Methodist Church of Alexander City.\r\n\r\nMrs. Edge passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on December 29, 1921 in Wadley, Alabama to James Monroe Radney and Nancy Beatrice Simpson Radney. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and prior to moving to Alexander City was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of LaFayette. She received her college education from the University of Montevallo and taught Home Economics for 32 years.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her daughters, Virginia Heath (Randy), of Alexander City and Carolyn Wheeler (Nick) of LaFayette; granddaughters, Paige Butler (Jaime) and Leigh Ellen Browning (Brad); great-grandsons, Jackson Butler and Parker Butler; and brother, Tom Radney of Alexander City.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Turnham Edge; her parents; and two sisters, Mary Frances Radney Smith and Louise Radney; and two brothers, Hugh Radney and Lawrence Radney.\r\n\r\nThe family requests no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to The Bell Center, 1700 29th Court South, Birmingham, AL 35209 or to Milestone Learning Center 1811 Glenn Ave Auburn, AL 36830.\r\n
