Sandra Kay Ledbetter, fondly known as Sandra by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024, in Daviston, Alabama, at the age of 66. Born on January 30, 1958, in Alexander City, Alabama, Sandra was a beacon of love and creativity throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Sandra was the cherished wife of Dallas Ledbetter, with whom she shared a life full of love and companionship in Daviston, AL. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kim Whetstone Eckstrand (Mike), and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren, Gage Whetstone, Bradlee Sims, Kayne Whetstone, Ronnie Tucker, and Mason Cobb, who brought immense joy to her life. Sandra was also a proud great-grandmother to Oaklyn Whetstone. Her infectious love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, as she referred to her grandchildren as "her babies," a testament to the deep bond she shared with them.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert Franklin Coker, her caring mother, Radene Coker, her loving son, Kevin Whetstone, and her dear brothers, Jerry Allen Coker and Lynn Coker. Their memories remained a guiding light in her life, and she held them close to her heart until her passing.
A woman of many passions, Sandra had a remarkable talent for crafts. Her "She Shed" was a sanctuary of creativity where she crafted beautiful flower arrangements and wreaths that reflected her artistic spirit. Sandra's love for animals was profound, and she embraced all creatures with open arms, providing a caring and nurturing home to many pets throughout her life.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Sandra found solace and happiness in the beauty of nature. She loved flowers deeply, dedicating time to planting and nurturing them, creating a vibrant tapestry of colors around her home. Camping at Wind Creek State Park was one of her favorite activities, where she enjoyed the tranquility and adventure that the park had to offer.
Sandra's legacy is one of boundless love and selflessness. She was a loving soul who put the needs of others before her own, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her creative energy was a source of inspiration, and the beauty she brought into the world through her crafts will be cherished by her family and friends forever.
As we bid farewell to Sandra, we celebrate a life lived with immense love and generosity. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly as a guiding star for her family.
