Sandra Kaye Bailey's Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Sandra Kaye Bailey, 69, of New Site, Alabama, will be Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the New Salem Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Drake will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Ms. Bailey passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center (Birmingham). She was born on September 11, 1954, in Alexander City, Alabama to Thomas Hoyt Bailey and Annie Lois Jones Bailey. She was an active member of New Salem Baptist Church for many years. Sandra graduated from New Site High School and from Sylacauga School of Nursing and later attained her masters equivalent in education from Auburn University. She worked in nursing all her career. She worked for Russell Medical, UAB, Tallassee Hospital, and PRN at several facilities. She taught Health Occupations at the area trade school for many years. One of her most memorable accolades came when she was selected as teacher of the year. She was overjoyed to video chat with her grandson. She enjoyed hunting arrowheads, fishing, mud riding, Auburn Football, and dirt roads. She spent her life being concerned about the health and welfare of her friends and neighbors. In her spare time, Sandra enjoyed watching Hallmark Movies. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister.She is survived by her Sister, Brenda (Mike) Jennings of New Site, AL, Son, Brian Jay Harris (Angel) of Las Vegas, NV, Son, Justin Kyle Hutcherson of New Site; one grandchild George "Bubba" Harris and one soon expected grandchild, Carter Harris; and a large Facebook family.She was preceded in death by her Father, Thomas Hoyt Bailey, Mother, Annie Lois Bailey.Radney Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Sandra Kaye Bailey.
