Funeral Service for Mrs. Sallie Mae Johns, 73, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama, will be Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Josh Sammons will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hackneyville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Sallie Johns, a treasured soul whose love and generosity touched the lives of many, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born into the warm embrace of Walter Oneal Pike and Geraldene Pike, Sallie's journey through life was one of devotion, kindness, and an unwavering spirit of giving. Although her parents, beloved son, Tony Fuller, grandsons, Oscar Sherrer, TJ Fuller and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Pike, as well as her brother, Walter "Bodie" Pike, preceded her in death, Sallie's legacy continues to shine brightly through her family and the countless lives she enriched.
Sallie's life was a testament to the power of love and family. She found her lifelong partner in Jack Johns, with whom she built a life filled with joy and laughter in Jacksons Gap, AL. Together, they raised a family that would expand to include a cherished son, Jearl Fuller, and his wife Joanne Carrol, along with three daughters: Teresa Fuller, April Vaughan and her husband Guy, and Jackie Johns, all of whom inherited their mother's warm heart and generous spirit.Her siblings, Tommy Pike with his wife Martha, Tammy Hudson alongside Bobby Fuller, and Elaine Reeves, also survive her, sharing in the profound loss of their sister but cherishing the memories they created together. Sallie's love extended to the next generations, leaving a legacy of eleven grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched with her boundless love and the wisdom of her experiences.
Sallie's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work, retiring after more than two decades of committed service at Russell Mills. Her colleagues knew her as a reliable and caring presence, someone who brought not just her skills but also her heart to her work every day. Beyond her professional contributions, Sallie was actively involved in various associations, where she formed lasting friendships and made a positive impact on her community.Sallie's interests and hobbies were reflections of her love for life and the simple joys it offered. She relished the adventures of going camping in the RV, exploring the great outdoors, and embracing the serenity of nature. Her passion for finding treasures at yard sales and flea markets was not just about the items she acquired but about the stories and connections she made along the way. Above all, Sallie adored her grand and great-grandchildren, pouring her love into every moment spent with them, creating a tapestry of memories that they will hold dear forever.
Those who knew Sallie would undoubtedly describe her as loving, generous, and selfless. Her actions spoke volumes, and her heart knew no bounds. She gave without expectation, loved without condition, and cared deeply for those around her.
