Funeral Service for Mr. Rufus "Cap" Lamberth will be Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Price will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Rufus “Cap” Lamberth (68) of Goodwater, Alabama departed from us on July 11, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. Notably known as Cap, he was born on August 24, 1954, to Rufus and Hazel Lamberth in Alexander City, Alabama. He dedicated a huge portion of his life to Avondale Mills, with 20+ years of service. He loved fishing and hunting with family and friends, valuing every chance he got. He also had a deep passion for western shows-waking up at 4 AM for (The Rifleman) and ending his night with (Bonanza)- all while sipping a cup of black coffee. Rufus was the embodiment of authentic-being an amazing father, grandfather and confidant.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheila Lamberth of Goodwater; daughter, Jamie Smith (Stacy);son, Richard Andrew Lamberth(Kimberly); grandchildren, Ashton Ja'Kari Lamberth, Andrew Hayden Lamberth, Aubrey Lynn Lamberth, Bailei Rayne Smith; bonus grandchildren, Stephon Buchanan, Jumall Buchanan; bonus children, Anthony Fowler, Jerad and Jessie Benson; sister, Kathryn Lamberth Arrington (Kenneth); stepsisters, Pam Mask, Wanda Faulk; stepbrother, Ricky Taylor and a multitude of other family members and friends.
The family would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the nurses and staff of Enhabit Hospice for the excellent care given to their loved one.
The family will accept potted plants or fresh cut arrrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Lamberth.
