Funeral Service for Mrs. Ruby Neal Newberry, 85, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Harris, Rev. David Sherrell and Bro. Mikey Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Ruby Neal Roberson Newberry, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. Her life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit and the joy she found in caring for those she held dear. Ruby's legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her family, her work, and her community.
Born to Harmer David Roberson and Myrtle Lee Roberson. She was the cherished wife of the late James C. “Jimmy” Newberry and a loving sister to the late William David Roberson. Ruby's life was a tapestry of love and dedication; woven through the many roles she embraced with grace and compassion.
Ruby's professional journey was marked by over thirty years of dedicated service to the Coosa County school system, where she nurtured countless young minds with her wisdom and kindness. Her commitment to education was paralleled only by her tireless volunteer work with the Russell Hospital auxiliary, where she offered comfort and care to those in need.
A devout Christian, Ruby's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. It guided her through life's challenges and inspired those around her. Her home was an extension of her heart, always open and filled with the fragrance of her beloved garden flowers. Ruby's passion for gardening was matched by her love for cooking, and her kitchen was the heart of many family gatherings.
Ruby's love story continued through her sons, Roger Lynn (Tracie) Newberry, and Jack Wayne (Tara) Newberry, both of Alexander City, AL. and her niece, Karen Emfinger. Her grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Newberry, William Lynn Newberry, Gage Wayne Newberry, Taylor Nicole (Dylan) Keeble, Joseph Adam (Lindsey) Taylor, Joshua Aden Taylor, and Ruby E. McLendon, were the apples of her eye. The joy of her life multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, McKinley R. Keeble, Sadie Mae Keeble, Jocelyn A. Taylor. Friend and caregiver, Tina Norwood. Each of them carried a piece of her spirit and her teachings of love and kindness.
An avid reader, Ruby found solace and adventure within the pages of romance novels. Her love for literature was a reflection of her romantic heart and her belief in the enduring power of love. Her selfless nature was evident in the way she cared for her family, always putting their needs above her own.
Ruby Neal Roberson Newberry's life was a beautiful example of a life well-lived. She was a woman of strength, kindness, and unwavering love.
