Mr. Ruben Burnett's Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. Ruben "Earl" Burnett, 81, of Alexander City, will be Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Hall, Jr. and Reid Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMr. Burnett passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home. He was born on March 1, 1930 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Ruben Jackson Burnett and Mollie Newman Burnett. He was a member of Perryville Baptist Church. Mr. Burnett loved going walking, going to the beach, and playing Rook at the Senior Center. He loved his camper, “Herbie” and enjoyed taking trips in it to Wind Creek as well. Mr. Burnett loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, LaRue Oliver Burnett of Alexander City; daughters, Sharon McLain (Milton) of Alexander City, Patti Mitchell (Reid) of Eclectic, and Jan Kennedy (Gary) of New Site; son, Tim Burnett of Alexander City; grandchildren, Christy Bell (Brian), Amy Baker (Will), Dr. Jason McLain, and Bartley Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Sarah Baker, Madison Baker, Hadlee Bell, and Haiden Bell; nephew, Bobby Burnett, Jr. (Lisa).\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Jean Burnett.\r\n\r\nFlowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be given to Children’s Harbor, 1 Our Children's Highway, Alexander City, AL 35010-8620.
