Rosario Bellino's Obituary
Rosario "Ross" Bellino, a cherished family man, respected veteran, and passionate restorer of vintage cars, passed away at the age of 88, surrounded by his family. Ross, whose gentle and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew him, left a legacy of friendship and kindness that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Born to the late Vincenzo "James" Bellino and Pasqualina (Palozzi) Bellino. Ross's life was one marked by dedication and service. After graduation from Portland High School, he furthered his education at LaSalle University, earning his degree in Business Administration. His commitment to his country was evident as he served with distinction in the United States 82nd Airborne from 1954 to 1956, before transferring to the Army Reserves where he continued to serve until 1962.Ross was born and raised in Maine. He worked at Fairchild Semiconductor and Shape and was transferred to Shape South in Dadeville, AL in 1986. He then called Alabama his home.
Ross's life was filled with the warmth of a loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Kathleen Bellino of Alexander City, AL. His legacy continues through his children, Patty Bellino & fiance, Marcus of Jacksons Gap, AL, Ross & wife, Tammy Bellino of Standish, ME, Lisa Napolitano of Gorham, ME, and Joe & wife, Sarah of Millbrook AL. His brother, Anthony Bellino of Clearwater, FL also remains to honor Ross's memory.
The joy of his life was further multiplied by his grandchildren - Jennifer, Kristina, Haley, Ross, Josh, Nicole, Zoe and Sophia. His great-grandchildren - Chandler, Billy, Adriahna, Aliyah, Alayna and Zayne - brought him immeasurable joy.
Ross's interests were a reflection of his character. His love for restoring vintage cars was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his patience, attention to detail, and appreciation for the beauty of a bygone era. A true fan of the game, he loved watching football, celebrating each play and strategy with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life.
Those who knew Ross would describe him as the epitome of gentleness. His friendly demeanor made him a pleasure to be around. His loving presence was a comfort, and his smile a beacon of joy in the lives of his family and friends.
Ross's life was a journey of love, service, and simple pleasures. He found joy in the laughter of his family, fulfillment in the work of his hands, and peace in the camaraderie of friends. His life was a life well-lived, and his memory will be a treasure to all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his story.
As we bid farewell to Ross, we hold tight to the memories and the love he shared. His influence will continue to guide and inspire us, and his spirit will forever be a part of the lives he touched. Ross will be deeply missed, but the beauty of his life will never be forgotten.
Mass will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 at St. John's the Apostle Church in Alexander City, AL. Burial will follow Mass at Hillview Memorial Park. Friends are welcome before Mass, at 10:30 to remember Ross.
