Mr. Ronnie Wade Baker's Obituary
Mr. Ronnie Wade Baker, 66, of Alexander City, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1959, in Alexander City, Alabama to Bobby Baker and Juanita Wyatt Baker.
Ronnie worked as a Truck Driver and Trainer for Russell Corporation for more than 25 years, later serving as a Truck Driver Instructor at Central Alabama Community College. He took great pride in teaching students and helping them prepare for their futures. His instruction was marked not only by knowledge and experience, but also by patience and encouragement. He understood the importance of his role and valued the opportunity to guide others as they learned a trade that required responsibility, skill, and confidence. Many students benefited from his willingness to share what he knew, and he found real satisfaction in seeing them succeed.
Outside of his work, Ronnie enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures and lasting interests. He was an avid fisherman and found peace in the quiet moments spent near the water. Fishing gave him time to reflect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors in a way that suited his nature. He also had a deep appreciation for all things Indian, a love that was rooted in his family heritage. He carried that heritage with pride and respect. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, cherishing those moments and the relationships that meant the most to him.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Joan Reed Baker; son, Billy Baker; daughters, Haley (Derek) Stidham and Samantha Baker; grandchildren, Claire Stidham and Chloe Stidham; and his father, Bobby Baker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Wyatt Baker, and sister, Darlene Hannah.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Radney Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ronnie Wade Baker.
