Mr. Stroud passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Russell Medical. He was born on July 31, 1959 in Alexander City, Alabama to Roy Calvin Stroud and Gaynell Mask Stroud.
LeRoy was a man whose unwavering dedication to his work and love for his family and the great outdoors left an indelible mark on all who knew him. LeRoy served as a steadfast groundkeeper at Willow Point, and his excellence was further showcased through years of devoted maintenance work at Wind Creek State Park. For him, his profession was not just a job; it was a lifelong passion that he pursued with exceptional commitment.
LeRoy's interests were as vibrant as his personality. He was a collector at heart, cherishing each piece in his impressive gun and knife collection. Always seeking the beauty of nature, he found solace and joy in the embrace of the outdoors. Yet, it was the festive cheer of Christmas spent with his family that truly captured the essence of LeRoy's loving spirit.
Best described as loving, friendly, and generous, LeRoy's legacy will be cherished and remembered by all those fortunate enough to have known him. His presence will be deeply missed but the stories of his kindness, camaraderie, and zest for life will continue to warm the hearts of many.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Stroud (Mark) Kirk; niece, Elise Christine Kirk; nephew, Dylan Wayne (Carlie) Kirk; grandniece, Charlee Rae Kirk; and cousins, Mike Prather, Jean (Wendall) Brown, Teresa (Mike) Gilbert, Kathy (Damon) Lewis, Terry Taunton, and Robert Taunton.
