Graveside Service for Mr. Rodney Dean, 71, of Lanett, will be Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 CDT pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. Bro. John Frederick Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm CDT at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Dean passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on January 10, 1953 in Alexander City to Joe Sam Dean and Annie Grace Germany Dean. In his younger days, Rodney's passion for the open road was evident as he reveled in the freedom of riding motorcycles. His love for animals shone through his dedication to raising show horses, and he found great pleasure in sharing trail rides with friends and family.
Rodney's amiable nature meant he never met a stranger, always finding common ground and stories to share with anyone he encountered. His deep interest in ancestry allowed him to connect with his roots, tracing back his heritage with fervor and pride. Above all, Rodney adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spoiling them with love and attention, and instilling in them the values of family and history.
A wonderful man in every sense, Rodney Dean's memory will be held close to the hearts of all who knew him, as he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Dean of Lanett; daughters, Stacy (Marvie) Delacruz of Pensacola, FL and Tracy (Kevin) Madden of Valley, AL; grandchildren, Adriana (Truby) Perkins, Jon House, Tyler (Hailey) Delacruz, Charlee Delacruz, Clifford (Storm) Borden, and Weslee Eason; great-grandchildren, Johanna House, Heidi House, Levi Perkins, Liam Perkins, Emma Perkins, Onyx Leonard, and Alaya Eason; sister, Sarah Machen of Alexander City; brother, Donnie (Carolyn) Dean of Alexander City; niece, Hannah Machen; many other nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved little canine friend, Wishbone.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
