Mr. Robert Franklin Coker's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Robert Franklin Coker, 91, of Daviston, will be Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 4:00 pm at the Old Harmony Cemetery in New Site. Rev. Andy Kinman will officiate.
Mr. Coker passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born on November 5, 1929 in Eagle Creek, Alabama to Clifton Jefferson Coker and Velma Patterson Coker. Mr. Coker loved to talk about his old workdays with Henderson and Coker, Scott Construction, and Tallapoosa County District 3 driving a motor grader. He was a big jokester and always tried to get the last laugh. He enjoyed caring for his dogs, loved chewing tobacco, and watching Alabama football and old westerns on TV. He dearly loved his family, especially the grandchildren, great grandchildren and the one great-great grandchild.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra C. Ledbetter (Dallas) of Daviston; grandchildren, Tasha Coker and Kim Whetstone; great-grandchildren, Gage Whetstone (Alyssa), Reanna Nichole Norrell, Gracie Norrell, Kayne Whetstone, Bradlee Sims, Mason Cobb, Aliah Weldon; and great-great grandchild, Oaklyn Whetstone; sisters, Eva Baker of Dadeville and Floye Partridge of Eagle Creek; brother, Clyde Coker (Shirley) of Alexander City and Marvin Coker (Brenda) of Dadeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Radene Hand Coker; sons, Lynn Coker and Jerry Coker; grandchildren, Kevin Whetstone and Sheena Kay Coker; brother, Reuben Coker and sister, Eloise Wright.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lake Martin Animal Shelter 2502 Sugar Creek Rd. Alexander City, AL 35010.
